There are many methods of displaying photos or pictures on your website. The web page could be:

1. a page of information with a few illustrations to break up the blocks of text. If illustrating a page of information - then the photos would be few and scattered, some to the right of the text and some to the left of the text. The photos could be displayed full sized or thumbnails to click through to full size.
   
   or
   
2. a gallery of photos with some captions or text explaining the photos. If a gallery - then they could still be displayed full size requiring a lot of page space, but they would more economically shown as rows of thumbnails, each clicking to a larger size.

Click on some examples of the same photos that we can show in different ways on a website:

1. Larger Photos with text - four on one page illustrating some text (this text being just an example). You usually need to scroll down the web page to see each photo.
2. Thumbnails - opening to a new page for each larger photo. From the larger photo page you click back to thumbnail page. This is preferred by clients with databases of products - showing more details and specifications of the product on the individual larger photo web page. On the web page of thumbnails you can usually see many at a glance without scrolling.
3. Javascript Thumbnails - opening to a larger photo over the same web page and becoming a slide-show by clicking on right or left side of the larger picture.
4. Javascript Slide-Show - with fade-in transitions. Slide shows can be any shape or size and the frame that we show in this example is optional.
5. Flash Slide-Show - with motion and several types of many transitions available.

The method of displaying pictures will depend on the number of items and on the purpose of the display on the website.
